This is the centre of cross-country skiing in Poland, but is also popular among cyclists and hikers in summer, spring and autumn. In Jakuszyce, there is a stop of the Izera Railway - it is the highest located railway station in Poland, thanks to which you can easily get from Szklarska Poręba to Jakuszyce, and the route is very scenic. Jakuszyce is often referred to as the gateway to the Izera Mountains, and its location between the Karkonosze and the Izera Mountains opens up a wide perspective for hikers and cyclists.
In the summer, the popular Summer Bieg Piastów, a mountain half-marathon, and the Jakuszycka Dziesiątka, a 10-kilometre run, take place here.

The most popular trails in Jakuszyce:

Red trail to the Orle chalet and further into the Izera Mountains
Red trail to Harrachov in the Czech Republic
Green trail to the Jizera Crossroads and further to Szklarska Poręba or Świeradów
The Green Trail to the mountain chalet on Hala Szrenicka and further to the Karkonosze Mountains.

An interesting fact:

In the 1920s, Erich-Will Peuckert, an expert in Silesian mysticism interested in astrology, alchemy, Hermetic knowledge, arcane cults and magic, lived here.
